What to expect in your laser hair removal consultation
During your consultation you will fill out medical forms that will help determine if you are a good candidate for laser hair removal treatments. The technician will discuss your particulars and desired treatment areas with you. Any medical contraindications in your recent health history will be reviewed. We are often asked if you can receive your first treatment on the same day, which is possible if you are an approved candidate and have taken the appropriate preparation steps listed on this page. The technician will explain step by step the procedure to make sure you will not experience any surprises.

Before
Preparing for your laser hair removal treatment
- Shave the treatment areas 1-day prior to the procedure.
- Do not consume any tropic products or medicine that cause photosensitivity such as hydroxy acids, salicylic acid, retinols (Retin A, Renova, Differin, and Tazorac), and benzoyl peroxide two weeks prior to the treatment. This also applies to acne medications and some antibiotics. If you have any questions, please ask us during the consultation.
- Avoid sun bathing and using UV tanning beds two weeks before the laser treatment. If you have sun exposure, spray tanned or have used a tanning bed, the laser hair removal treatment is not recommended. Try to apply sunscreen (Minimum SPF 30) leading up to and during laser treatments.
- Do not wax, tweeze, pluck, epilate or use chemical depilatories two weeks prior to the procedure and during the treatments.
- A minimum of two weeks prior to your hair removal do not have dermal filler injections, chemical peels or microdermabrasion in the treatment areas.
- Similar to stress, sun and fever laser hair removal can trigger cold sores for people with a history of herpes. We recommend you take an oral antiviral medicine 24 hours before treatment.
- Inform our technicians if you are taking any anti depressive or hormone medication.
- During the laser treatment you must wear laser protective goggles.
- Please show up freshly showered and clean without using lotion, oils, cream, or fragrance.
